Spells of Genesis
The start of the BitCrystals Token Sale is postponed to August 4th, 2015. The main reason is to make easier participation in the token sale for the project backers. So, SoG’s Team decided to partner with ShapeShift to be able to accept 40 cryptocurrencies.
Also, there are changes in the project milestones:
- #1 End of Token Sale (release 25% of funds raised): Swapbots (trading card vending machines) will be configured to accept BitCrystals only. Alpha version of Spells of Genesis will be playable in a web browser, all the blockchain-based trading cards sold until then will be playable in Moonga.
- #2 October 2015 (release 25% of funds raised): Early beta version of Spells of Genesis with 10 different game levels. The game will allow to connect a Counterwallet and transfer card assets. A player will be able to view their assets on Counterwallet as digital game items.
- #3 February 2016 (release 25% of funds raised): Fully featured beta version of the game with all components will be released. The game will have a wallet and payment method.
- #4 April 2016 (release 25% of funds raised): Final development of the game with over 100 game levels and 150+ cards. The players will be able to play in groups (guilds), to create their own levels, characters as digital assets and trade them.
Token Sale will be hosted at http://bitcrystals.com/tokensale

Ethereum
The main event of the last week was a launch of the Frontier. It should be noted that the Frontier is a technical release mainly for the developers. Despite that, it is a great moment in the cyberworld. After a year of development Ethereum network is alive!
The first days of August will be a “thawing” phase, a period during which a gas limit per block will be set very low to allow the network to grow slowly before transactions can take place.
The next step that awaits Community is a start of ETH trades. Polonoex and Kraken announced that ETH will be available for trading after the end of the “thawing” period. But it is obvious that many more exchanges will allow a trade of ETHs.
Ethereum welcomes miners! Ethash makes possible unbreakable GPU mining (at least for a year). So if you have Radeon R9 series — you are lucky! It is a reason why in the first 3 day after a launch Ethereum hash rate is about 60 Ghash. ~ 3000 very powerful GPU have been hashing together securing existence of this newborn network!
More details about Ethereum release you can find in the article Frontier is coming — what to expect, and how to prepare.
Also I recommend you to read @21xhipster’s post on Ethereum. Yet another next big thing
NEM
NEM continues to delight us with the new opportunities. Last week Project Team announced Vanity Address Generator and Paper Wallets.
The First Victims of the BitLicense
The one of my favorite exchanges Poloniex stopped provide service to residents of the New York State. As noted at Poloniex website:
In accordance with the New York State Department of Financial Services, Poloniex will no longer be allowed to provide services to residents of the State of New York starting on August 8th, 2015. If you are a resident of New York, please take appropriate measures to withdraw your funds by 11:59pm Eastern Daylight Time on August 7th, 2015
Well, it is an understandable step. I guess that residents of the New York State do not comprise a very large share of the Poloniex users and it is better for the exchange to focus on business development than on compliance to the raw law.
Be calm and patient, analyse, think long-term and profits will come!
