Portfolio Performance Table

Despite the fact that we are losing the second week in a row, our portfolio has good potential. After reducing share of Ethereum and increasing share of BitShares Portfolio become more stable. “Blue Chips” (Bitcoin, Ethereum, BitShares, SAFE Network, NXT) comprised about 60% of our portfolio and each of these systems is underestimated. Let’s take a quick view:

Bitcoin

BTC Price Chart
  • Price September 22, 2014: $400
  • Price September 22, 2015: $230
  • Price reduction for the year: -42%

According to a CoinDesk Bitcoin venture investments in 2015 reached $456M (all time total — $914M). This means that 27% of $3,377M Bitcoin capitalization already backed by VC investments, not bad isn’t it? Given the growing interest from major financial institutions to a blockchain technology in particular to the Bitcoin, I think that price of Bitcoin should seek minimum $350.

Ethereum

ETH Price Chart
  • Price August 22, 2015: 0.0063 BTC ($1.42)
  • Price September 22, 2015: 0.0038 BTC ($0.89)
  • Price reduction for the month: -40% in BTC (-37% in USD)

As I told in previous posts, at the moment ETH price under pressure from the miners, for which this price is quite cost-effective. At the same time, the network is weakly loaded. But with the increasing number of applications built on Ethereum and with good load of the network (perspective of 0.5–1 year), ETH can show exciting performance!

BitShares

BTS Price Chart
  • Price September 22, 2014: 0.000078 BTC ($0.031)
  • Price September 22, 2015: 0.000026 BTC ($0.007)
  • Price reduction for the year: -67% in BTC (-77% in USD)

BitShares ready to bring to a world a powerful financial platform based on blockchain. BTS already compensated for part of the fall and trade volume reaches highs for the year. I think that launch of BitShares 2.0 on October 11 can push price to a 0.000050 BTC and higher.

SAFE Network

MAID Price Chart
  • Peak price in 2015 (January 5): 0.000170 BTC ($0.048)
  • Price September 22, 2015: 0.000089 BTC ($0.020)
  • Price reduction for the peak: -48% in BTC (-41% in USD)

SAFE Network the only one who does not have a working network, so project have not yet revealed his potential. First launchers already available, but main functions still under construction. So this asset have long term potential to grow, and at launch price can return to peak values.

NXT

NXT Price Chart
  • Price September 22, 2014: 0.000077 BTC ($0.030)
  • Price September 22, 2015: 0.000038 BTC ($0.008)
  • Price reduction for the year: -50% in BTC (-73% in USD)

First proof-of-stake system, even with the built-in decentralized exchange and monetary system cannot break the bearish trend that continues whole year. At the same time, community begin to more actively use function available in the system, for example crowdfunding of Cryptoasset.fund and close launch of NautilusCoin. Thus community accumulates experience in project implementation and in near future accumulated efforts should bring good results. I think that fair price for NXT not less than 0.00006 BTC.

As you see this is a good moment to buy “Blue Chips”, because prices at the bottom and some of assets already started to grow.

From the Cyber Battlefields

NeuCoin

Very promising news came from NeuCoin’s Team.

“After completing a successful beta with a test coin, NeuCoin itself will be launching later this week.
At the time of launch, NeuCoin’s source code will be updated at github and all presale buyers will receive an email with instructions for taking delivery of their NeuCoins.
NeuCoin will be listed on Bittrex and Cryptsy within a few days of launch. More exchanges are expected to follow in the months after launch.”

Said in the email

This is a great news, one more high quality system come to live!

Stellar

Last week Stellar presented the paper by Prof. David Mazières, Chief Scientist at Stellar.org, “Stellar Consensus Protocol (SCP)”, a construction for federated Byzantine agreement (FBA). SCP provides a way to reach consensus without relying on a closed system to accurately record financial transactions.

Stellar promises that new consensus solve following problems:

  • Decentralized control. Anyone is able to participate and no central authority dictates whose approval is required for consensus.
  • Low latency. In practice, nodes can reach consensus at timescales humans expect for web or payment transactions — i.e., a few seconds at most.
  • Flexible trust. Users have the freedom to trust any combination of parties they see fit. For example, a small non-profit may play a key role in keeping much larger institutions honest.
  • Asymptotic security. Safety rests on digital signatures and hash families whose parameters can realistically be tuned to protect against adversaries with unimaginably vast computing power.

New consensus mechanism not yet implemented in existing Stellar Network:

We wanted to open source the code for peer review and additional testing before we move the live network over.

Ethereum

Last week Ethereum presented Developer Preview of the Official Ethereum Wallet. Wallet have base functions such as:

  • Creating a new wallet
  • ETH sending
  • Multisignature

Developers do not recommend to store and send large amount of ETH using dev version, but promise to release a first official version in 1–2 week

Factom

Dev Team has created easy to use Factom Binaries together with installers for Windows, Mac, and Linux. Follow the “Factom Binaries Install Guide” http://factom.org/howto to get your own wallet!

Storj

Storj Network reached 1PB! 3 initial milestones for Test Group B complete and 1,00,000 SJCX will be distributed as reward.

So if you want to participate go to http://driveshare.org/dataserv.html and follow instructions.

Be calm and patient, analyse, think long-term and profits will come!
